What you can do

A closer look at the work BerthPilot takes off your plate.

Drawn from real BerthPilot screens with sample data — every feature shown is in the product today.

01Marina operations

See every slip at a glance.

Lay out your docks and slips once, then run the waterfront from a live map. Click a slip to see the boat, the owner and how it’s billed.

  • Slips colour-coded as occupied, available, reserved or in maintenance
  • Assign vessels, take reservations and end stays from the map
  • Haul & launch schedule tied to your lifts, trailers and yard equipment
  • Dry storage racks and yard spaces tracked alongside wet slips

02Service & yard

From estimate to invoice, without the paper trail.

Quote the job, get it approved, and convert it into a work order in one step. Every order gets its own number and moves through a clear status workflow.

  • Estimates convert straight into work orders — no retyping
  • Task checklists and reusable work order templates
  • Status workflow from scheduled to completed, with auto-numbered documents
  • Scheduling calendar that books technicians and resources together

03For the crew

The job list lives in their pocket.

Technicians sign in on any phone browser and land on “My Jobs”: what’s due today, where the boat is, and what’s left to do.

  • Today, Upcoming and Completed tabs, overdue work flagged first
  • Tick off tasks, start, pause and complete jobs from the boat
  • Clock in and out with a running timer; time logs per job
  • Signed, timestamped notes that never overwrite the office’s

04Customers & portal

Owners get answers without calling the office.

Every customer record holds their vessels, maintenance schedules and service history. Give owners their own portal and they can look things up themselves.

  • Customer and vessel profiles with full service history
  • Maintenance schedules that show what’s due and overdue
  • Portal: vessels, work order progress and service requests with photos
  • Portal message threads for service, billing and reservation questions

05Money & back office

Billing, stock and the books in the same place.

Invoice work and slip rent, set up recurring charges, sell at the counter and keep an eye on stock — with a general ledger and reports underneath.

  • Invoices, recorded payments and monthly, quarterly or annual recurring billing
  • Point of sale for counter and fuel sales, with blind drawer reconciliation
  • Inventory, vendors and purchase orders with low-stock alerts
  • General ledger, AR / AP, financial and operational reports
  • Document library with secure uploads, templates and e-signature request tracking

Who uses it

Office, yard and owner each get a workspace shaped around their job — all reading from the same records.

  4. 4

    Invite your team

Bring in managers, office staff and technicians, each with the right role.

Security & reliability

Your data stays yours.

BerthPilot is multi-tenant by design. Isolation isn’t a filter in the app — it’s enforced by the database on every query.

  • Tenant isolation in the database

Every business’s data is separated with row-level security enforced by PostgreSQL itself, not just by the app.

  • Role-based access

Owners, admins, managers, staff and technicians each see what their role allows. Customers only ever see their own boats.

  • Private file storage

Documents and photos are kept in private storage and shared through short-lived signed links.

  • Accountable records

Records carry who created and changed them, and document numbers are issued by the database so they never collide.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What BerthPilot does today, and what’s still on the way.

Who is BerthPilot for?

Marinas, boatyards and service shops, and dry stack or storage operations — including businesses that do all three. You use the modules you need; the rest stay out of the way.

Can my customers log in?

Yes. Boat owners get their own customer portal where they can see their vessels, follow work orders, submit service requests with photos and message your team. They only ever see their own information.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

BerthPilot runs in any modern browser. The technician “My Jobs” view is designed for phones in the yard, with large touch targets and clock in / out. There is no separate native app to install today.

Can customers pay online?

Not yet. Today you create invoices, set up recurring billing and record payments as they come in. Online card payments are on the roadmap.

Does it connect to my accounting software?

BerthPilot includes its own general ledger, accounts receivable and payable, and financial reports. Direct sync with outside accounting packages is not available yet.

How is our data kept separate from other marinas?

Each business is a separate tenant. Isolation is enforced by row-level security in the database, so one company’s records cannot be read by another, and files are kept in private storage.

How long does setup take?

Creating your workspace takes a few minutes: sign up, enter your company details, then start mapping docks and slips and adding customers. You can invite your team whenever you are ready.
